More Zoo Pictures!

Sorry I haven't really updated with much of substance lately. To distract everyone, hey, lookit! More animals! (from the Oregon Zoo, where we went this weekend -- it's a really, really great zoo; I actually liked it more than either of the Washington zoos I'd been to.)

Those are great pics! :) The one with the little kid and the peacock is just terrific.

Nice Kraftwerk shirt, too!

Thanks! I got that one the one time I've been able to see them. I dig that one. And yeah -- I was really glad she got the baby versus peacock one. Those ones are really fun.

There was one when we went to Woodland Park (we forgot the camera that day...) where there was a Siamang (kinda-sorta like chimps) who walked up to the window and put his hands on the glass where a little kid, maybe 4 or 5 years old, had his, and he was completely gobsmacked, since he was one of those kids who really likes the monkeys and reads a lot about them. He was just going on a mile a minute telling his mom about all these various siamang facts. It was pretty cool.

The lorikeets were fun, they had a thing where you get to feed them! I fed a bunch (as you can see), but then I tried to help kids get them, since I'm much taller than they are. I was able to help out a couple of little girls, although there was one little boy where I was trying my damnedest, and the bird wouldn't go sit on him. I hope he got one eventually!

Also similar: Photos of my friends from my Space Needle Surprise Party. Probably not as interesting as the animals, but hey. They're still pretty cool.

Heh heh! That middle pic looks like a "Kids In The Hall" skit in progress. :D

What is a Space Needle Surprise Party, pray tell?

Oh, sorry, forgot to mention it -- last Friday, Debbie and Aila (the two girls in the top pic, it goes Aila, Me, Deb) conspired to throw me a surprise birthday party at the top of the Space Needle, where Deb works. The group of folks (Jake, Ben , Carolyn (Deb's girlfriend), Dale, Lindsey, Sean, Heather. Not that those names probably mean anything to you...8) were the ones who were there before and were ushered upstairs while Aila (*choke*) tricked me into killing time at a Tower Records immediately before hand so she could pick up one of the new Pogues album remasters.
