"Sweet."

McFarlane Toys and Fox Licensing & Merchandising proudly announce a new licensing agreement bringing a "sweet" line of action figures based on characters from the hit cult-flick Napoleon Dynamite.

The line will feature an assortment of figures including the film's quirky anti-hero Napoleon Dynamite, his mustachioed sidekick Pedro Sanchez and chatroom-junkie brother Kip.

I would just like to add, for the record, that I hated nearly every scene of this incredibly derivative, boring, predictable piece of schlock. I can't think of any movie which got me saying, at the end of it, "Shit, *I* could write something better than that."

That script is now in progress. Seriously.

I think it's hilarious that this little movie is so divisive... it seriously is a "love it or hate it" thing.

I loved it, though. I've only seen it once, and I STILL crack up remembering certain moments.

What did you think it was derivative of? It reminded me a LOT of being a kid in the late 70s/early 80s in a small town... bear in mind I grew up in the same era as Napoleon's uncle. :D

It WAS schlock, though I don't consider that a negative. :)

BTW, C.W. hated it too when we played it at movie night, but S. Thayer and wife loved it, so... it's about even. :D (Arnold was already asleep, but he's the one that BOUGHT the movie in the first place!)

The hispanic kid was so stereotypical... I thought offensively so. If he'd have been black, he'd have been in Al Jolsen face paint.

The dance at the end? Where the kid becomes president of the school? Derivative. The producers of "Revenge of the Nerds" should have sued. "Police Academy" should have lined up afterwards too (for what, I don't know, though). Maybe John Hughes should have sued after that.

Ugh, ugh, ugh, fucking UGH, I hated this movie. It wasn't even that funny. Lamas, tupperware, bad after-school steaks, fake hot-chick nerds with braces, give me a BREAK. Cult, my ass. ":D

I never saw "Revenge Of The Nerds," but I find it hard to believe it could possibly be as funny as this was. Maybe I'll check it out on your recommendation, though. ;D

The original "Revenge of the Nerds" was genius. You'd have to do some mental time-travelling to enjoy it, maybe.

I agree with you, CW. This movie was so "tongue in cheek" cheeky that it really made me feel manipulated.
