Prince on SNL (last week)
Prince was on Saturday Night Live last weekend, promoting his new album (which I like a lot), and his performance kicked all kinds of ass.
The song he performed, called "Fury," is one of the better ones off the album- note the wicked DEVO riff at the beginning of the studio version.

You had me at "wicked DEVO riff". I didn't really care for "Black Sweat", but "Beautiful, Loved & Blessed" is pretty good, particularly the last half or so of the cut.
So, do you agree that it's a DEVO riff? :) I think it's unmistakably DEVO.
I like "Black Sweat," though... what don't you like about it? Or does it just not catch your ear?
Oh, it is SO DEVO. I mean, we're all DEVO, but that riff is DE-VO.
I dunno, though, "Black Sweat" just seems a little... phoned in to me or somethin'. I think it's just one of those "not catch my ear" type of things. There's nothing about it that's really striking me as bad, but there's not much that really strikes me as good, either. It's just sort of there, in an albeit kinda-sorta catchy way.
"Fury", however, is wicked.
