Gotta love Jon Stewart
When he's on, he's really on. Watch him humiliate Bill Bennett as Bennett tries to explain why gay couples aren't "real families."

Oh, GOD that was great. Man, if I didn't already love Jon Stewart just for being him, MAN, I would basically want to bear all his children after seeing him coolly, calmly and rationally shut DOWN that gasbag, particularly with said gasbag's own arguments. (I like the bit where he's all "Well, to go back to what you said before, aren't all gay people SOMEONE's son or daughter?" and Bennett starts rambling something incoherent about how Jon doesn't want to go down that road because if you find just one person raised by gay parents that doesn't think gays should be allowed to marry, that sinks the whole argument... -- did that make a LICK of sense to ANYONE? Because, um, I don't get how that works, other than in Bennett's TwistyLogicWorld where two men who love each other deeply getting married harms society and undermines marriage when Britney Spears' 10 minute marriage is a-OK... or to use a less cliche example, Dan Savage marrying his partner Terry, with whom he's adopted a child, is horrible, but his marriage to a lesbian Stranger staffer whom he didn't live with or love is a-OK?)
Ergh. At least I do agree with Bennett on one thing -- Gay Marriage IS coming... only I don't feel all resigned about that; in fact, I'm overjoyed.
I agree... I have to watch that blowhard Bennett on CNN every afternoon bloviating on all kinds of topics, and so seeing Stewart bust his bubble so thoroughly was just... theraputic. :)
You notice very few politicos WILL go into a forum where they will be really challenged on the issue of gay marriage, because it's impossible to make a rational argument against it. So you end up flopping around like a fish, as Bennett did here.
