Rocks

OMG... this animated short is one of the most brilliant things I've ever seen.

The short is in German, with Portuguese subtitles(!); I can't find it in English, but stick with it and you'll figure out what's going on. So, so cool.

AFTER you've watched it, check out the official site for the film.

This is an INSANELY wonderful picture. And, for an English Version, it's available on the first Animation Show DVD. Which is pretty dang worth it, to be honest. I saw it in the theater, and the DVD is a bit different, but hits most of the big ones. And it's got Mount Head on there, too, which is similarly amazing.

For reals, this disc is TOTALLY worth it. And you're supporting a couple guys (mainly Don Hertzfeldt & Mike Judge) who're working hard to get short-form animation into actual theaters! So rock on to them.

Hey, cool... there are TWO volumes of The Animation Show coming out in January. I'm on it. :)

We used to go every year to see a touring animation festival like this back in the early 90s... I can't for the life of me remember what it was called, but it was where I first saw Jan Svankmeijer's work, as well as Bill Plympton and even Ren & Stimpy in their pre-TV days. I'm glad to see these guys trying to revive that tradition.
